If I had to decide what my favorite item on my boat is the answer would have to be my garmin gps. There is nothing that can be so useful in times of fun and times of crises as a good gps that can not only tell you where in the world you are in relation to the rest of the world but it can also tell you where the fish you are trying to catch are and where the destination is that you want to get to. Try to ask your motor to do more than move the boat around and it will look at you like you are nuts. Granted that is a silly example but you get my point. My gps has been a loyal piece of equipment and has never had an issue until the other day my mount broke and I am now in the market for a garmin gps mount as many of you are.

The garmin gps is a wonderful machine that seems to be made very well but the gps mount is another story. I have a feeling that the gps and the mount are not made by the same place. Garmin may actually shop around the company to manufacture their stuff though the brains behind the gps are garmin, thank goodness. Anyway enough about the mount the rest of the item is awesome.

I will say one thing about the garmin gps mount that is great, I never had any issue trying to figure out where on my boat I can put my gps since the mount is very versatile unlike some of the other marine electronics I have on by vessel. I spent hours trying to figure out where in the world I can put my vhf radio. I had to figure out where it could be mounted to allow easy access to the hand set and also the dials. The gps went on in minutes so kudos to garmin gps.
