If you have a boat then it is a guarantee that at an earlier point you had to be in the market for the abundance of marine electronics that have to be installed on a boat. There are a handful of brands out there to choose form but to be honest not all of them are created equal or even close to equal. I have gone through tons of electronic brands and none of them can seem to keep up with garmin marine electronics for the durability and reliability. The fact is that going fifty miles out into the open ocean looking for marlin can be a daunting experience if you have no confidence in your electronics. Gone are the days of truly navigating by the stars so your life is in the hands of your gps and chart plotter.

The way you can tell that garmin is a good company for marine electronics is by asking anyone that you see at the docks with anything that says garmin on it how they like it. They will always tell you they love it and trust it. I can say that I will not install anything that is not garmin on my boat. That may be a bit of a snobbish thing to say but the thing is I am never let down or stranded, if that is not worth a bit of extra money for garmin marine electronics then what is?

The funny thing is that garmin is not the most expensive company out there for everything. You can feel free spending a lot more cash on brands that are lesser in quality, my opinion, but that is your call. I live and die by my electronics for my marine vessel and that is why garmin are the only ones for me. Do your research and find out for yourself if the brand will work for you. I fish garmin because they will not let me down, can you say that with as much confidence about your no name stuff?
