Stop getting lost

I am not one of the most technology savvy people although I do try my hardest to keep up with the times. Recently I was in the market for a new home in an area I was unfamiliar with. A realtor drove me around showing me houses which I appreciated, but what really fascinated me was the navigation system she had in her car. Since my realtor wasn't 100% familiar with the area either, she invested in a Garmin Street Pilot to help find her way around. What an invention!

Suddenly I wonder how I ever find my way anywhere without one. The garmin street pilot is a gps system that stores hundreds of waypoints and destinations with its street mapping software. All she had to do was type in the address we were looking for and the street pilot gave us verbal turn-by-turn directions. Without that gps I think we would have been driving around for hours. Until recently I thought that gps systems were only used by the government and the police. I started doing research because I realized I wanted my very own garmin nav system and found that there is a wide variety of gps systems available and several different price levels.

I found several aftermarket gps systems other than the garmin street pilot but I would rather spend a couple extra dollars to get the name brand gps that I know I can trust. I have heard some horror stories from friends that went the cheaper route in the beginning and ended up spending more money in the long run having to repair or replace the systems they bought.
